After gaining my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with Psychology BS (first-class honors, 4.0 equivalent) from The University of Aberdeen, Scotland in June 2018, I worked in the field of medical communications for two years. First in a project management role and then as a medical writer producing copy on a range of health topics such as rare diseases, oncology, HIV/AIDs, and psychiatric medicine. However, I realized that my real passions lay within psychology which led to me undertaking an MS in Cognitive and Decision Science at University College London, graduating with distinction (4.0 equivalent) in September 2021.
In October 2021, I moved from London, UK to Cambridge, MA with my husband and rabbit. So now, I am looking for a role as a UX researcher that would allow me to apply my expertise in cognitive psychology – particularly in the health tech space because of my background in medical communications. I have a real passion for using ideas and concepts from psychology to improve user experience and streamline the design process. I am also motivated by creating accessible products that are inclusive of marginalized groups. Check out my research experience, to get a feel for the type of work I like to do. I also run a blog called The Neuropsycheto make topics from psychology and neuroscience interesting and accessible to others!
Currently, I live in Brookline, MA, and work at Thermo Fisher Scientific a large biotech company. I started as an Associate UX Researcher, where I was instrumental in the coordination and execution of multiple end-to-end research initiatives, synthesizing research findings into actionable insights. After two years, I was promoted to Staff UX Researcher. In this role, I am the lead researcher for in-depth quantitative and qualitative research, influencing design decisions for both digital and physical products.
